Burned Brownie
In an effort to get back into my blog (we’ll see how that goes), I thought I’d start with something short.
Beth made some exquisite brownies the other day, mostly as a birthday cake for Jonathan. Of course, he’s watching his figure so he can fit into his tux in a week… Anyway, I heated one up last night and put chocolate ice cream on it. Mmmm… (I even let Beth have some.)
Well, when we went for a second helping, I guess I left it in the microwave a bit too long (probably 40+ seconds), and it started billowing yellow smoke profusely and giving off this caustic burning smell. There was a yellow spot under the brownie, too—probably where the oil seeped out and started to burn(?).
I actually took the little plate outside because it smelled so bad, and then I found that it had left the smell on my hands, too, though I think this morning’s shower finally got rid of it.
The “treat” is now on our kitchen counter, hard as doornail. (Yes, I know mixing clichés doesn’t really excuse them.)

It's not rocket surgery, you know.
Kinda fun, huh?

That's awesome! I remember Mom putting burned broccoli outside a few times... Sorry about the brownie :(
